Alvaro Zardoni

Happy (late) Birthday Alvaro Zardoni!

Sometimes it is hard to find artists with birthdays on the exact day I am writing about...Zardoni was actually born on January 4, 1964, in Mexico City. He always knew he wanted to be an artist and studied drawing and painting in the Irene Lidroth workshop, but ultimately became a self taught sculptor. His work has been exhibited in over 100 shows and is typically human busts (always male) with icons and objects often added to emphasize the meaning or emotion desired to portray. The works are normally small, bronze, and always with an emotional or psychological aspect. His major influences are Louise Nevelson and Auguste Rodin.
